* Design, develop, and implement new programming applications for Spectra LIS and related systems.
* Design, develop, and implement modifications to the existing applications and modules to accommodate new business requirements.
* Work closely with users to determine the exact nature of more complex business or systems problems, develop recommendations to correct problems, and assure effective implementation.
* Create user´s manuals and technical documentation to describe projects and changes for affected applications.
* Oversee testing and ensure seamless error free integration of changes into the existing production systems.
* Work with hardware and software vendors to implement new laboratory instruments, software packages and system changes.
* Work closely with business owners to define and document user requirements for complex programs and program modifications. Provide recommendations for processes improvements.
* Provide technical support and guidance to others in department in areas of programming or testing techniques, standards, documentation, application systems and operating systems. May monitor the work of junior staff to assure that programs are accessible and easily maintained, and that they have been tested and verified with actual data.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Degree required: major in computer science, information systems, business, administration, engineering or laboratory science.
Minimum of eight years experience in programming and system development with demonstrated abilities in providing innovative and solid solutions for business problems. Prior experience in the healthcare industry desirable.
