Job Title Sr. Developer

Duties
- Determining user requirements for interfaces, queries, and reporting solutions for Genetic Care Interchange (GCI) information.
- Includes user-centered innovation with GCI network institutions.
- Develop project plans and resource requirements for software development within strategic timelines.
- Through internal or external resources including personal independent programming work, develop, test, and launch the software needed for GCI data use.
- Close cooperation with Life Technologies´ internal stakeholders, including biological information systems R&D and Chief Medical Officer, to ensure alignment of work and interests.
- User centered innovation: interaction with GCI network institutions to Together with Product Management Leader, establish plans for ongoing development and maintenance of health informatics solutions. Through Product Management Leader, identify and secure necessary resources appropriate to scale of efforts.

Skills
- A successful Health Informatics Specialist for the Genetic Care Interchange will possess the following attributes:
- Masters´ or advanced degree in computer science, software engineering or related field.
- 5-7 years in systems engineering and software development, especially in health care oriented applications.
- Excellence in design principles and programming skills, Java, Python and Linux Shell scripting.
- Very strong experience in client-server and database programming.
- Experience with cloud based solutions is highly beneficial Experience and interest in working in a fast paced, rapidly evolving entrepreneurial environment, where an individual may need to play many roles through design and development of solutions to achieve strategic objectives.
- Strong communication skills to work with internal and external partners.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work streams to achieve strategic objectives, prioritizing time and resources.

Education
- Masters´ or advanced degree in computer science, software engineering or related field.
- 5-7 years in systems engineering and software development, especially in health care oriented applications.
