Cresta Partners, a leading executive search firm serving small to mid-size technology companies, is conducting a retained search for a Product Manager, Online Games for our client in Silicon Valley.

Our client, a well-established public company, is seeking a world class Product Manager to join its team to help in analyzing user behavior data, design game features, oversee their completion, manage project prioritization, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints of some of their fast growing casual online games.

As the Product Manager, you will guide the product roadmap and product life cycle. This extends from increasing the profitability and customer satisfaction levels of existing products to developing new products for the company. S/he will help build products from existing ideas, and develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. The successful candidate must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.

Your specific focus will be the development, deployment and the ongoing monitoring and tuning of online casual games. You will be charged with making these games fun and engaging and with managing the overall game play experience.

The Product Manager will play a major role in the feature direction, health and success of their games. This requires rapid and detailed analysis of in-game statistics and user behavior. The Product Manager will drive feature selection, definition, implementation, release and tuning to maximize user growth and revenue. Success in this position will require constant and effective interaction with programmers, artists, designers, project managers, QA and management.

S/he must be able to communicate with all areas of the company and work with management, marketing, customer service and development to define product requirements and release timelines for online/mobile gaming applications.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Defining compelling casual games for the online gaming community.
• Ability to work in short deadline environments and use data driven decision making.
• Use website analytics and tracking to measure site and feature performance.
• Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
• Conduct research and business analysis to identify marketing opportunities and solve problems.
• Analyze statistical user data to draw behavior patterns and design features to address them.
• Analyze trends and research new business opportunities.
• Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by customer surveys, usability testing, interviews with customers and non-customers.
• Provide prioritization queue of bugs, enhancements and new feature requests
• Analyze potential for licensing and adapting casual game products from other vendors.
• Analyze and establish potential partner relationships for the product.
• Develop innovative viral marketing tactics to drive user acquisition.

No slouches, this person must have a start up "go for it" mentality! This position absolutely requires a person who is passionate about online gaming and is driven, energetic and focused on making fun and engaging games with a great user experience.

Skills
The key qualifications include:
• BS/MS degree (Computer Science or related technical field preferred), MBA a plus
• 2+ years in product management of web based and mobile consumer casual game products.
• Experience with having designed and taken to market launch consumer gaming applications
• A passion for casual games and a desire to make the best games on the planet
• An in-depth knowledge of how casual games work
• Exceptionally strong analytic skills – knowing what questions to ask and how to find the answers
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and translate customer needs into business and product requirements; past experience in a customer-facing role is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects across functional teams, including technical, engineering, marketing, design, and merchandizing teams
• Strong organizational agility – the ability to get things done quickly
• The ability to spot revenue opportunities and drive features and processes to make them happen
• The ability to prioritize and do the right work at the right time
• Ability to work successfully with and influence all levels across the company.
• Driven to succeed with a strong work ethic
• Superb written and oral communication skills

Pluses:

• Experience with online gambling products
• Experience with SaaS product design and delivery
