[KITlist-Tech] CONTR: Sr. Director for Search (South Bay, CA)

As part of Crimson's Products and Markets Service, Consultant needed to create a high traffic search site for a specialized audience (life science researchers). The Sr. Director will act as a General Manager to build a business where one doesn't yet exist. Reporting to the VP of Product Management, this role will also work closely with the CEO to ensure success within the context of the overall corporate strategy.

Key activities will include:

• framing the product/offering
• validating unmet needs and market hypotheses and framing a product and business strategy
• validating product concepts in context of unmet needs, persona workflows and business model
• validating hypotheses through quantitative testing of product capabilities and framing a GTM strategy

An additional key area of responsibility includes developing the strategy and tactics to drive the target audience to the site, and getting them to return.

MUST HAVE:

• 5-10+ years of experience in a product management/product marketing role
• 3-5 years of experience building public portals and creating a critical mass of site traffic and return traffic
• Experience with online data products
• Knowledge of website user-interface analysis
• Experience in a project lead role focused on business strategy and implementation

STRONGLY PREFER:

• Experience working for one of the following companies; eBay, Google, Yahoo, Yelp or similar
• MBA

Location: South Bay, (on-site)
Duration: 6 months, (full-time), possibility to transition into a permanent position
