Position – Application Development Supervisor
Duration – 6 months +
Location – San Ramon, CA
Responsibilities
• Provide application development and support for applications utilizing Portal technologies. Work with internal line of business clients and other IT groups to establish Service Level Agreements and Operation Level Agreements for all critical applications, and ensure that service levels are met. Manage SOX controls and IT security audits as appropriate. Partner with IT operational teams to provide 24 x 7 operational and maintenance support for mission critical systems.
• Work with the direct reports to perform application analysis, design, development, unit testing, testing support, deployment support and maintenance for portal web applications. Investigate and fix defects reported. Implement requested enhancements. Participate in calls with 3rd party vendors to resolve issues. Accurately estimate effort for requested enhancements. Provide guidance and clear communication to team and partners. .
• Ensure quality of code development. Maintain development standards and guidelines. Ensure team and augmented resources adhere to development standards and guidelines. Maintain focus on quality and continuous improvement. Assist development team in resolution of technical issues. Represent Portal CoE in technical meetings.
• Work with Business Partner and Solution Architects to provide IT consultation and solutions to the business. Build and maintain positive and collaborative relationship with clients. Meet with clients regularly to understand their business challenges and IT needs. Keep clients informed on operation and project status.
• Set performance expectations for all direct reports and manage staff performance by providing timely feedback and recognition. Work with direct reports and other IT groups to maximize quality, efficiency, teamwork and productivity in a highly matrix environment.
• Manage operations budget and work with team to meet estimates. Manage team work load and ensure that resource requests are met.
• Ensure that all safety and mandated training requirements for all staff are completed. Foster a safety climate and culture at work. Communicate safety related information to staff in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Information Technologies with a focus on Application Development and Support
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in portal-based web application development, JAVA, J2EE, Struts, XML, Weblogic Portal, SAP Webdynpro (JAVA, ABAP).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in direct supervision and evaluation of staff or a minimum 4 years as an individual contributor with consistent performance in leading project teams
• Minimum of 2 years experience using recognized SDLC methodologies including XP, Agile
• BA/BS in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent work experience
Desired
• Project Management experience
• Knowledge of ITIL
• Knowledge and experience in Lean Six Sigma
