Our client, a VC-funded music start-up developing exciting Music 2.0 applications, is seeking an experienced Director of Product Management. If you are passionate about music, have a large digital music collection and are finding your collection more and more difficult to manage, then here is an opportunity to join a cool company. You can have high impact in developing a product that will make a difference to consumers and your life.

The Director of Product Management will work with all the cross-functional team members (engineering, QA, marketing) to deliver all products in a timely fashion. Any candidate will have a proven record of having had managed a digital media product or service from concept to launch.

BSCS or equivalent experience, good verbal & written communications skills. Bonus: experience with media players, music players or music-industry related applications.

* Work with engineering, graphic design, outbound marketing to bring new products and new features to existing products from idea to release
* Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
* Work with engineering to convert PRDs to specs and implementation plans
* Act as scrum master, lead all project meetings tracking schedules, deliverables and action items
* Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
* Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products
* Be an expert with respect to music metadata, information and the competition

Required experience and knowledge:
* Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in various Product Management/Product Marketing roles
* Demonstrated success in taking a product from definition all the way to launch
* 5+ years of experience in a job in the digital media market
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Bachelor´s degree
* Technical background, with experience in computer programming, metadata (music preferred) and web APIs
* Excellent teamwork skills
* Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
