Title: Release/Deployment Engineer
Duration: 3+ months (long term, renewable per quarter)
Location: San Jose, CA
We have an immediate need for a Release Engineer with the following skills
Technical Skills:
Informatica, Teradata, Knowledge of data warehousing, Oracle, Unix/Linux, Business Objects
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for setting up of various database instances for the release test cycles and communicate the same with both offshore and onsite QA team
- Resolve any issues during the Transition cycles like sanity checks and ensure that the transition is smooth for all the test cycles
- Responsible for managing the risks, issues of a deployment cycle, escalating when appropriate and driving the issues to closure
- Coordination with offshore/onsite team on technical Issues by interacting with DBAs, Sys Admins
- Responsible for setting up the $U node for each transition release test cycle
- Involved in the analysis of requirements & specifications for various environments
- Responsible for the management of Dollar Universe refresh and delivery schedule for all quarterly releases
- Responsible to keep meticulous detailed information about the release plans/content
- Responsible in driving all aspects of IT Release Management and program activity which includes collaborating and coordinating across all IT and business segments
- Responsible for managing a broad, complex portfolio of projects as well as overall business programs that contain multiple projects that require high levels of functional integration, change management, and release management
- Responsible for driving the development and execution of project plan by working with project team to define, sequence, and estimate duration of activities and determine schedules to meet project objectives
- Plans communication, distributes information as necessary, and provides status reporting
- Frequent coordination and leadership to cross-functional teams to communicate and deliver periodic progress reports to senior management
