Web Systems Development Manager (contract)
Riverbed seeks a senior level (10+ years experience) Web Systems Development manager to led our team of in-house developers, and outside vendor support, in the planned enhancements to our recently launched flagship riverbed.com website; development of our localized sites (in Chinese, Japanese, German, etc.), as well as microsite and other CRM properties.
The Web Systems Development Manager will work as a member of the 14-person Marketing Services team, and as the lead of our 4-person in-house web development team. This position functions as the driving force behind the delivery of multiple, concurrent projects that leverage and extend our robust technical platform. The Web Systems Development Manager draws upon deep technical knowledge, years of software development experience, proven leadership skills and ability to forge strong working relationships that cross third party and in house organizational lines in order to aid us in our transition toward a more robust, scalable, lean and nimble department.
Responsibilities
Key point of contact with 3rd party affiliates including management of technical agency.
Provide daily leadership and direction for developers, Marketing Managers, quality assurance engineers, developers and other Shareholders up to the VP level.
Works closely with key business leaders to define strategies for business applications and processes.
Works with business Shareholders and developers throughout the strategic planning process. Participates in the process to prioritize and scope future projects and initiatives.
Works with business shareholders and developers to prioritize support and tactical issues to address immediate business needs while maintaining strategic direction.
Plans resource needs and allocations to support projects, initiatives, and support.
Evaluates business needs, researches and formulates application solutions, and makes solution recommendations to the VP, Directors and department Managers.
Ensures service levels are understood and met.
Proactively engages other leaders in cross-functional efforts. Openly shares plans and strives to prevent dissatisfaction.
Enagages with IT staff and counterparts to deliver strategic roadmap and resource needs to IT
Works in collaboration with IT to maintain service level agreements to the web development and production environment
Experience
Ideal candidate has large corporate web development, eBusiness, or digital product management skills, and is comfortable in the details of both business and technology. Experience delivering throughout the web product development lifecycle is extremely important in this role. A candidate must understand business requirements, UX, technical requirements, development environments and associated technology, and deployment process.
Digital agency product/project/program management a plus.
Experience in delivering web products in an Agile methodology and environment a plus.
At least ten year's progressive web development experience, ideally working on large-scale e-commerce or lead generation webstes.
Expertise in the following languages: php, cakephp, html, etc.
