Summary

The Performance and Benchmarking Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining QA software for file systems testing, and coordinating with multi-disciplined project groups to achieve their goals. This position requires a highly competent, results-oriented, self-directed software testing professional.

The individual is expected to be able to work with a variety of development environments and operating systems. The individual should be proficient in testing methodologies, programming and scripting languages, and various automation techniques. Must have superior problem solving skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Ensuring that performance benchmarks are established for the Panasas file system (PanFS) for the DirectFLOW Client for Linux, NFS, CIFS, SFS 2008, Reconstruction, FSRC and overall system throughput.
Operation and maintenance of the performance test lab infrastructure.
Ability to review a technical software or hardware specification in order to create a thorough test planResponsible for the design, implementation, and execution of testing in accordance with test plan specifications
Submission of detailed bug reports which provide enough debug information for the development teams to quickly resolve all product defects
Assist in the development of tools which will be used to improve our test automation infrastructure
Ensure that work meets or exceeds project performance, reliability, and quality goals
Work closely with the development organization to ensure that products are testable and can be validated
Mentor other test engineers and, where applicable, take the technical leadership role on specific projects
Occasional travel

Requirements
Must have minimum 5 years industry relevant experience
Thorough understanding of networking environments / HPC applications and how product changes / configurations choices relate to file system and application performance.
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent
Comfortable in a work environment which utilizes Linux / Unix as the operating system of choice
Programming experience in C, Perl, Tcl/Tk, or Python
Thorough understanding of Software Development and QA processes, principles, and techniques
Strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of project teams
