You will be a key member of a small team developing a massively scalable, high performance cluster for running and analyzing our social games. You will work with an agile, collaborative team of accomplished software engineers, designers, artists and marketers to develop and evolve a platform for making excellent games into massive hits. If you are passionate about building well-crafted, high performance server server software, love working with a small dedicated team, and relish the opportunity to see your work appreciated by millions of happy users, this may be the job for you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop and refine java server platform for running and analyzing highly interactive, social flash games
* Apply strong software engineering skills to build server software that is high-quality, high-performance, scalable and easy to evolve
* Actively participate with collaborative team to deliver a platform that enables our ability to replicate fantastic, highly successful games
* Work hand in hand with operations team to develop and support a dev-ops practice that makes deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting simple and efficient
* Work in an agile environment where quick iterations and good feedback are a way of life
* Continually look for opportunities to improve our platform, process and business
REQUIREMENTS
* Proven experience building highly scalable, highly performant distributed systems.
* Excellent programming skills resulting in clean, high-quality, appropriately optimized code that is a pleasure to work with
* Strong experience doing scalability and performance optimization
* Excellent knowledge of java
* Familiarity with relational databases, preferrably MySQL.
* Versatility and ability to thrive on a collaborative, collegial team
