[KITlist-Tech] Senior Hardware Engineer (Silicon Valley, CA)

Experienced Hardware Engineer to qualify and test critical new componenents for Cisco´s emerging Rack Server business. Will develop test plans, methodologies and coodinate activities with remote team in China. Familiaralrity with Servers, Intel processors, storage and memory is required. Successful candidate will need strong background in HW design, HW test and validation as well good organizational and reporting skills.

X86 experience with good knowledge and relevant design expertise in bus technologies like QPI, PCIE Gen2 & 3 , 6G SAS & SATA, I2c, 10Gbase-T, DDR3, USB2.0.

The position is primarily working to drive ODM/JDM designs but we are very hands on.
Additional skill required for the position:
• Driving schematic reviews
• Understanding missing components and working with SW for initial bringup and debug
• Writing design specifications
• Flexibility to work evenings since most our ODMs and SW teams are in Indian and Taiwan/China
• Hands on self motivated individual
• Review all test reports and understanding what's missing or lightly tested
• Being able to drive internal stress testing ( Thermal Virus, Mprime, eDVT, etc )
• Comfortable setting up a server and running stress tests
• Understanding IOMeter to test Peripherals
• Understanding of compliance technologies EMC/Safety
• Team player

Good communication & organizational, are must. Ability to speak Mandarin would be nice but not a requirement.
