Join our small, tight-knit team building customer-facing software doing server-side and middleware development. Be in the middle of the action - not a piece of it. Build out Amazon Web Services to support a consumer facing web site. No enterprise software here - just the heart of a fast-moving, smart business that is at the forefront of some very exciting work.
• Design and implement databases for project assets, user accounts, and meta information.
• Design, build, and expand RESTful web services.
• Design and implement complex search routines
• Integrate existing account DB and services with AWS.
• Implement and maintain Amazon Web Services.
• Rewrite, maintain, and expand Python scripts that integrate with DB and distribute email/MMS.
• Work in creative environment with a small, tight-knit team of engineers and designers
• Knowledgeable of back-end technologies: Java, MySQL, PHP, Python, cron services, and general web services & Linux technologies.
General Requirements
• BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• Well-rounded engineer with excellent architecture and development skills
• Experience designing and implementing databases, complex search routines, and user account services.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful services for complex back-end systems.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services.
• Flexible and personable while being able to perform under occasional short development cycles
• Knowledge of HTTP
Core Skills (5+ years experience of at least 3 of the following)
• Database Technologies / MySQL
• RESTful web services
• Complex search technologies
• Java (OOP)
• Amazon Web Services
• Python Scripting (or other scripting language)
Bonus Skills
• Familiarity with video processing (ffmpeg)
• C++ / C#
• Android/IOS Development
