Media SDK Product Manager:
Role/Responsibilities:
- Own and drive AMD's Software Development Kits targeted at Media applications.
- Work closely with AMD Eng. teams to plan product features and enhancements into periodic upgrade and maintenance releases.
- Drive plans for field deployment and maturation of SDKs through early adoption with key ISVs and partners.
- Actively consolidate all customer and field engagement data into specific product planning inputs.
- Drive expansion of AMD SDKs into diverse communities including ISVs, Universities, R&D Labs and small developers.
- Work with standards bodies and other platform companies to make the API standard
- Coordinate critical external engagements with internal AMD engineers and architects to enable optimized performance of application software.
- Drive generation of documentation, application examples and demos, courses, webinars and other self-help material for maximum usage and performance.
- Identify the necessary tools/libraries needed to make developers more productive with each major architectural change.
- Work closely with ongoing efforts on competitive performance analysis and benchmark to maximize impact of and on AMD SDK quality.
- Develop positioning of Media capability with Marketing
Requirements:
- Engineering degree in EE or CS with 10 years of combined software developer and product marketing experience. Advanced Business degree is a bonus.
- Strong technical knowledge of image, video and audio processing, multimedia standards and products/applications thereof.
- Experience with and knowledge of software architectures, frameworks, middleware and libraries.
- Experience with software product cycles including release and support processes
- Proven ability to work across multi-disciplinary internal groups
- Able to make and drive quick decisions based on customer relevance and company priorities
- Experience working in a multi-site setup including substantial intra-company customer site travel
- Excellent communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive independently.
