Business Reporting / Data Analyst needed for long term project at stable / public / growing company.
Responsibilities:
* This position will analyze current state (as-is) data. analyze patterns, provide recommendations on data model and reporting model
* This position will do extensive ad-hoc reporting and analysis in support of the project team and business customers.
* Determine basic characteristics, such as origin and report flow, format, frequency, distribution and purpose or function of reporting required in the custom solution
* Evaluate findings, using knowledge of workflow, operating practices, Company data and industry best practices
* Use DDL and DML to generate or update data per specification
* Work with Sales Ops, Finance Systems operations, Global Support, 3rd party vendor and internal IT groups to implement the new solution
* Work closely with the Project Manager and delivery manager to ensure project deliverables are on time and meet business expectations
* Contribute to test plans and test scripts. Provide sample data for execution of test scripts Work with users on User Acceptance testing.
* Prepare data documentation and technical documentations
* Support and Provide functional and technical training
Requirements:
* Strong communication skills a must (verbal, written and presentation)
* 7-10 yrs Experience as a Data analyst/reporting analyst
* B.A. or B.S. in MIS, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or Computer Science
* 5-7 Yrs experience with reporting, data analysis, plsql, sql
* Strong experience in data analysis techniques, tools, and procedures
* Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people using strong written and oral communication skills
* Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
* Familiarity with trillium software system discoverer and Quality a plus
* Experience with Oracle applications a plus
