Senior Mechanical Engineer, Function Engineering,
Palo Alto, CA
Function Engineering provides mechanical design and engineering for product development. Function is an established company with offices in Palo Alto, Atlanta, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, New Orleans and Taipei. We offer the opportunity to work with some of the most respected product development companies in the world, as well as a few bold startups. Our senior engineers still do plenty of design and engineering. Our projects span medical devices, robotics, consumer electronics, toys, household goods, sporting goods and more.
The Palo Alto office is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a passion for creative engineering design. You understand the importance of thoroughness and attention to detail as you create new designs from concept to release.
Requirements
BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years experience with:
- Mechanical design
- Design for manufacture/assembly
- High-volume design
- Engineering analysis (including thermal/structural)
- Engineering documentation, manufacturing documentation
- Vendor liaison
- CAD software
Critical thinking and problem solving
Consulting experience desirable
Excellent communication skills
Occasional travel, including Asia
Global scope requires tech-savvy communication and ability to work across time zones
