Electric Cloud is looking for a talented and ambitious individual, with experience in the software development process, to join the ElectricCommander® team.

The Support Engineer will work directly with software developers and build engineers from world-class technology companies like Broadcom, Qualcomm, General Motors, Ericsson and Nokia. As a Support Engineer, this position requires strong technical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with scripting languages, GWT programming, system-administration experience and wide-range knowledge of the software development process.

In this position, you will work with a best-in-breed product that offers customers the flexibility they need to design an immeasurable number of automated solutions, so your expose to product integrations and techniques will also be great.

Responsibilities:

Handle customer issues involving significant detailed information
Help prioritize cases to ensure that urgent and critical cases are handled first
Communicate directly with key engineers at other companies to diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems involving a wide range of platforms, tools and technologies.
Work directly with Engineering and QA to help implement solutions and test new solutions for our expanding set of customers
Multi-task over numerous disparate open cases

Qualifications:

3-5 years of software development experience using Windows, Linux, Perl and XML
Experience programming with GWT, javascript and java will be important in this role
Ability to work with databases, primarily MySQL
Experience using the Apache Web Server is beneficial
Ability to read shell scripts
Written and verbal communication skills required to understand customer issues and to liaise with Engineering staff in finding a resolution
Problem-solving skills needed to help uncover the root cause of a problem through both experience and experimentation
Experience using tools like procmon, procexp, wireshark, and other debugging tools to hunt down O/S and Network issues is beneficial
Able to work both independently and in a group to support customers cases
Able to adapt to a wide range of issues

Education:

Bachelor´s Degree (preferably in Engineering or Computer Science)

Travel:

Travel to Bay Area customer sites on occasion
