We are seeking a highly motivated Software Quality Assurance Lead to oversee our QA function. This role will be responsible for working with cross functional QA teams, acting as QA lead on project teams, performing hands on testing on some platforms and integrating the QA process into our Product Development Lifecycle. This position will be located in our Mountain View, California headquarters office.

You've led QA teams before.
You have a passion for QA and are driven by delivering high-quality software.
You promote high-quality software and you have an acute attention to detail.
You enjoy working with the engineering team and strive for a strong relationship with them.
You may have had some previous software development experience.
You know how to prioritize and focus testing on high-risk areas.
You've done formal test scenario planning and test plan creation.
You have strong project management skills.
You've successfully juggled multiple QA activities across multiple projects.
You enjoy gaining an in-depth understanding of the technologies and applications you're testing.
You´ve got great communication skills and when you lead a team, the team works better.

Responsibilities Include:

Work within a matrix organization to create virtual, multi-location QA teams.
Establishing QA processes.
Creating and maintaining documentation for QA procedures.
Acting as QA lead on multiple projects and product platforms.
Performing hands-on testing on multiple projects and product platforms.
Maintaining and setting QA policies, working with cross functional organizations to enforce them.
Promoting a culture of quality driven development.
Work with product teams to optimize release process.
Document application issues and solutions in our intranet.
Understand the software dependencies that exist among the various Sequoia product lines to improve testing.
Being the QA expert in the organization.

Experience / Skills Requirements:

BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and professional work experience.
The ability to write intelligent defects that developers can understand.
Must be a team player and have a willingness to listen to others.
Knowledge of Windows (Server/XP/Vista) and Linux environments.
Experience testing web based, multi-tier as well as client/server products.
Experience testing products using some or many of the following technologies: C++, Java, JBoss, Apache, IIS, C#, .Net
Knowledge of POS applications, including touch screen and handheld/wireless devices.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a software QA engineer (or equivalent) and at least 2 years a QA lead.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with the College Bookstore industry is a plus.
Database knowledge, especially with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/8 is a plus.
Familiarity with General Merchandising software a plus.
