Job Title: Sr. Optical Communication Systems Engineer/optical components and modules

Job Description:
Our client is a public company located in Sunnyvale that makes optical components and modules for high-speed data, voice, and video communications for storage, wireless, networking, and cable TV applications. They are seeking a Sr. Optical Communication Systems Engineer to add to their team.

Specific Duties include:

Analyze, simulate, and measure optical communication links.
Define optical communication transmit and receiver architectures.
Define optical component specifications.
Define new optical communication standards.
Characterize optical components and transceivers.
Support transceiver integration into customer communication systems.
Work will focus on 100Gbps LAN, WAN and DWDM systems.

Required Skills:
M.S. required, Ph.D preferred.
10 years of industry experience with communication system analysis, design and verification.
5 (recent) years of optics communication system or component design.
Strong signal processing and modeling skills.
Strong laboratory measurement and data analysis skills.
Test instrument and firmware programming skills a plus.
Hardware and software debugging skills a plus.
