Job Description:
Ancestry.com is looking for a Senior UI Web Developer to join our team building a world class user interface for our web applications. An ideal candidate will have deep skills in Web Design and implementation with a passion for building great web-based user interfaces. This position will be based out of our San Francisco, California office.
Key Responsibilities / Performance Requirements:
- Design and implement user interface for high performance, highly available, scalable web applications for use on Ancestry.com applications.
- Collaborate with the design team to perform usability and user experience studies.
- You will be responsible for working with cross-functional teams that include product management, marketing, and development teams to accomplish business objectives.
- Create rapid prototypes of interfaces to be used as a blueprint for content and technical development.
- Apply user-centered design methods to ensure an engaging, appropriate and usable social software and collaborative multimedia authoring applications.
Required Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Background with either, Flash, Flex, or javascript is important
- 5+ years experience with C#, ASP .Net, required.
- 5+ year's web experience; ability to design both structure and look and feel of data-driven web sites and web applications for ongoing production and maintenance.
- Experience with MVC, SQL Server is preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience in, interaction design and information architecture is a plus.
- Experience with Agile software development methods is a plus.
- Experience with user centered design and user research (ethnography, usability testing).
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
